Join us as we bump down a country lane during harvest season where frogs sing and cottontails hop. On Tuesday, October 11 travel by chartered bus to the land of legendary fruit and vegetables at Frog Hollow Farm in Brentwood. With produce beloved by many — including Oprah and Martha Stewart - Farmer Al cares about what goes into our soil and ourselves.
Experience organic, sustainable farming and enjoy hand-tended, tree-ripened fruit and vegetables picked at peak. HCC has arranged this unique agritourism opportunity in our own backyard.
This trip is rated ‘Moderate’. Meet Farmer Al and meander with our guides along hard-packed pathways and some uneven surfaces. There are few paved areas but no stairs. Frog Hollow is a working farm not a tourist site. All activities take place outside. Dress in layers. Bring hats and sunscreen. Closed-toe, flat-soled footwear is necessary for safety.
Member advance registration purchase is Monday, August 15 to Wednesday, August 31 when reservations open to everyone. 40 reservations are available at the all inclusive price of $100 members and $110 non-members. The reservation deadline is Wednesday, October 5 after which there are no refunds unless a wait list resale occurs.
Enjoy Chef Mario’s cooking demo and lunch at orchard tables. Prepared in the Frog Hollow kitchen, our meal will be created with seasonal items. There are no menu selections for this vegetarian feast. Note dietary restrictions with registration in the comments field. After lunch, shop the Frog Hollow farm stand.
The bus will depart Gateway at 8:30am and return about 3:30pm, Reservations start in August with a member-only purchase period. 40 tickets will be sold on a 1st-come-1st-served basis. Payment secures reservation, or waitlist space. The registration deadline is Wednesday, October 5.
